Over a period of a few weeks, 3-year-old JaLise started to get sick after eating and lost an alarming amount of weight. Her family was devastated when tests revealed JaLise suffered from medulloblastoma, a type of brain tumor. JaLise underwent immediate surgery to remove the tumor. Her mom was familiar with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and asked for a referral. At St. Jude, JaLise’s treatment included six weeks of radiation and four rounds of chemotherapy. “From the moment we walked through the door, I was amazed,” said her mom. “Everyone is amazing. You really see how much everyone cares.” JaLise is finished with treatment, and her latest set of scans were clear. A budding fashionista, JaLise recently started pre-kindergarten and loves it.
